Dear Ms. Samuel,
It is our pleasure to invite you to join Rebuilding Together NYC for our annual Fall Rebuilding Day on Saturday, October 28th in Brownsville, Brooklyn. Kickoff will begin at 9:00am at the Seth Low Community Center, located at 137 Belmont Avenue. It would be an honor to have you speak at the kickoff ceremony.
One of our two annual neighborhood-wide rebuild events, Fall Rebuilding Day marks the fifth anniversary of Superstorm Sandy’s devastation in 2012. On this day, we commemorate the resiliency of New Yorkers and demonstrate our commitment to rebuilding and preserving the affordable housing stock in New York City. We will be joined by 200 volunteers from both the community and city at large, and will be completing repairs and renovations at five homes and two community spaces, as well as installing solar powered lights throughout a business corridor in the neighborhood, improving the safety of Brownsville residents and business owners.
To make this event possible, we have partnered with established organizations in the neighborhood, including Community Solutions, the Brownsville Partnership, Brownsville Community Justice Center, Brownsville Community Culinary Center, the Mission Continues, the Brownsville Recreation Center, as well as the Seth Low Resident Association and Langston Hughes Tenant Association.
Founded in 1998, Rebuilding Together NYC brings volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income New Yorkers through comprehensive programming that strengthens the relationship between stable housing, employment, and sustainable communities. We provide critical home repairs and accessibility modifications for low-income New Yorkers, enabling them to live independently in their homes. Together, we transform our communities through workforce development training and the renovation of non-profit facilities, serving our most vulnerable neighbors, including the elderly, disabled, families with children, veterans, and survivors of natural disasters. Rebuilding Together NYC is a registered charitable organization in accordance with Internal Revenue Code in Section 501©(3); EIN # 13-3997769.
Please RSVP to Lilly McNicholas, at (718) 488-8840 x14 or at email@example.com. We hope to see you on the 28th!
